My client has purchased this home

The hardest thing to do in real estate is to get started. With detached homes up 25% in the past year in Toronto, buying a freehold property in the city wasn’t an option for my client. But considering that he is currently working from home and when he does return to the office he would have to commute to Markham anyway, we started looking for better value further east.

When this formerly 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom bungalow with an in-law suite in the basement came on exclusive, I sent it to my client right away because of the location - half a block from the end of a street that runs right into the Oshawa Golf Course in the desirable O’Neill district. They wouldn’t take a bully offer but when it eventually hit MLS we were ready. It is a sweet yet modest home but for a single guy it is perfect, especially if he gets a tenant in the basement. Picture a few cosmetic tweaks to update the cottage vibe. Buying on a great street is always a good idea and it is all part of the plan of how my client will move up the real estate ladder. I wouldn’t be surprised if one day I sell him a home in Rosedale!
